Terrible consolidation run..

Well I did my 2nd consolidation run today after completing c25k last week and it was horrendous! Not sure why - didn’t go faster or longer but I really struggled! It was the first run throughout this whole time that I’ve struggled - legs felt like lead - anyway just needed to share the misery! I’ll be back to it in a couple of days and hope for a better time

Well done........you ran.

Everything going on in our lives can impact on our performance as a runner. Restedness, hydration and nutrition are at the top of my list of variables that need to be optimised to enable enjoyable running.

Heavy legs can be symptomatic of poor hydration. As a runner you need to drink a minimum of 2.5 -3 litres of fluid each and every day, running or not, as mentioned in the guide.

Thanks - I do usually drink enough but I think you’re right today - didn’t have enough pre-run!

Hi yes some days it can really feel like you've never ran in your life, breathing all over the place, legs don't seem to work properly! But fear not I'm sure the next run will feel much better. 😁

Thanks - That’s exactly what it was like today - onwards and upwards 😃

We've all had that run VG11 leave it behind it's done, definitely increase your fluid especially before your run, even at night it all helps👍.

Those consolidation runs are also about relaxing and enjoying yourself, mix up your routes try new things. If your a music listener then why not give the naked running a go all these things are yours to experiment with!!

You have great runs and then not so great runs. Very normal as frustrating as it is. I found Week 9 really hard and remember thinking before I started that week or it’s only an extra 2 mins I can do this! It was such a struggle. I think I was starting with a bug as I had awful fatigue a few days later. It’s only in my last three CRs that I have started to find 30 mins more manageable. Good luck with your next run! 👍🏻
