Graduated - so pleased to complete the course but will running become easier for me and will I ever start to enjoy it?

Kernyk123 whoahhh, what do you mean you don't enjoy it, you've kept going, run after run, you did it so something deep in your subconscious mind likes the running, it must make you feel good, healthier, etc?Perhaps post a msg on the badge page and someone will be there to pin your medal on 🙂

Oh and keep on running (you're enjoying it more than you realize 🤫

I think it becomes easier when you do longer. So 30 minutes becomes easier when you can run an hour. Also, it’s easier and more enjoyable if you slow down more. It also means you need less recovery time. Try listening to the radio or an audiobook. Try running in the countryside on trails.

Will it become easier? Yes and no. As you become fitter you'll naturally progress onto harder things, or approach familiar activities with more vigour.

Will you start enjoying it? Occasionally, yes. There will be some runs which you enjoy and there will be ones which are just a slog. Often the enjoyable ones are the ones where you've been working hard over the previous runs, and then found your "easy running" sweet spot in that run (which often is at a lower pace than you might have been doing ordinarily).

Go slower, I enjoy it more if I run SLOW 😸

Many congratulations on your graduation, fellow runner.

Can you speak aloud, clear, ungasping sentences as you run?.........if not, you are going too fast.

Slowing down to the recommended easy conversational pace makes it more achievable and for most, more enjoyable.

This guide to post C25k running may be helpful healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Keep running, keep smiling.

I understand. Maybe once I get to doing weekly one hour runs I may enjoy the 30 minute runs. I am doing a 40 minute run on Saturday). At the moment, I can't say I enjoy the runs but I enjoy the adrenaline rush once I've finished. Plus I know it is doing me a world of good.

We didn’t start really enjoying the actual running until some time after graduating and at some point we realised that it’s not too hard either, we’ve done longer runs, short faster runs, runs where we hated every minute of them and runs where we grinned all the way round.....your journey started well and as you go into a new year we wish you some fun on your journey
