I haven’t posted for a while because I’ve had a lot on my storm-tossed mind but I have continued with my running.
The weather hasn’t been great on my run days so when gyms opened again I resorted to running on a treadmill. I loathe it but it’s better than not being able to run. No epic runs, no especially quick runs but still, yeah you’ve guessed it, runs.
So today I was forced to decide a) run on the pavements or b) don’t run because the park is sodden. I decided to do a brief pavement run just to test the waters. Not easy to start with but then I reached a point where the breathing was good, the joints felt fine and, in stark contrast to my treadmill experience, I wasn’t too hot so I went a bit farther. Managed my first5k pavement run. Slow and steady but still 5k.
When I started running I presumed that treadmill running would be easier but my experience so far is that it is harder. Just my personal experience and I’ll still do it when the occasion arises but I now acknowledge that it is not easier - well for me at least.

Awwww well done lovely! 💕👏👏👏👏 especially if you’ve got stuff in your head! I’m hoping the running is helping you? 👌
I’m struggling to get out at the moment- I’m on induction for new job... I’ve written December off .... only done 15k plus a few walks ... but I struggle to cut myself slack 🙈
I’ll know in mid January if things have panned out but I’m already less stressed than I was. Running definitely helps me so I’m hoping that you’re able to get back to it soon. It is keeping me steady & helping my physical well-being too.
I knew December would be difficult cos I’m on induction plus run up to Christmas I’ve had some family times planned - once induction is over can crack on - but my competitive Annie gremlin is constantly chattering in my head 🙈 calling me lazy etc etc 👺👊
