Just got back from my W6R2 of C25K and had a weird smell in my nostrils. Googled it and it’s amonia which means I’m burning protein! I’m on a low carb diet. Any ideas of what I should eat before a run to avoid this?
The run was fab though 👍🏻

This may well be the post you have already read runnersworld.com/health-inj....
This quote from it seems to answer your immediate question:
The simple cure is to increase the carbohydrate in your diet a bit and maybe drink a little more water during the day to dilute the ammonia. Ammonia smells can be associated with liver and kidney disease, so if you or other readers have new symptoms of ammonia smell or taste that do not respond to the simple fix outlined above, it would be wise to discuss this with your personal physician.
The carbohydrate will break down to provide you with the required glucose.
As runners we need broad based diets to make sure we have all the nutrients we require.
