Can anyone recommend an app where I can track my run? Wanting to track my distance/time and whatnot, on a map 🙂 does that even make sense?

There are several, Strava, Mapmyrun and Runkeeper are the most popular, I use Mapmyrun, you can unload those from the App Store.

There is a list of tracking apps known to work with the C25K app in the guide to the plan.

I use Nike Running Club app. Works well with the Cto5k app. Just do quick start and tell it the run time. Later on, post graduation you could use their guided runs (although I stick with Sarah Millican on Cto5k and music).

My recommendation would be... not tracking your runs at this stage. Over my many years of reading the forum, it has been a minority of people who has escaped them having a negative impact on their wellbeing and motivation during the programme itself. Best saved, in my view, as something to 'reward' yourself after graduating.

The programme is designed to teach you how to run continuously for 30 minutes, sustainably - pace and (despite the name) distance are irrelevancies at this stage. I feel adding in a tracking app is a bit like attending a language class and having another language in your earphones.

(Which is not to say I don't love using Runkeeper now, especially with the 'Mademoiselle' ('think of all the croissants you can now eat') and 'You run like a hippo' coaching cues)

Enjoy doing the programme, it's brilliant and has so much to offer.

Great advice. However I’m also doing this run to raise money for charity, so kinda need that proof I’m doing something :)

That's a lot of expectations you are loading on the programme - but if you are using the app, isn't screenshotting that evidence that you are doing it?

Try Strava, will give you what you’re after.

Strava is my favourite one- I don’t pay for the upgrade, i just use the free version. It is accurate and you can add picture and comments. I just keep it as a record for myself. It’s nice to look back over- to see your progress through the months
