Tracking runs

Curious question: Once people started to get onto week 7 with the 25+ minutes, are you including the cool down and warm up walk too or do you just track the run itself? I’m tracking everything with my Apple Watch at the minute but was just wondering at what point do I exclude the warm up and cool down walk or do I just track everything so I can get a more accurate reading?

I would be interested to know too, I’m tracking the whole thing but I do wonder whether the figures people give on here include the walks.

Since I started the continuous 25min runs (doing W7R3 today) I'm only recording the running parts. I'm a sucker for stats such as pace and distance (I know that's not the most important thing in couch25k) so I feel including the warm up and cool down skews things.

Yeah I know it doesn't matter but I'm the exact same hahaha, I want to see my improvements easier! Thank you for the advice :)

When I hit week 6R3 with the 25 minute runs I started to record the runs only! Wanted to see how far I could actually run when I reached 30minutes 😁

I always started my tracker as the run started. Comparison to the interval runs is both difficult and pointless, so no worries switching... but in a few months you’ll be able to see your progress much easier if you exclude the walking from now on.

Nah I don't think I can chop off the beginning and end with the warm up/cool down bit - but thank you though, I love my Apple Watch but maybe might need to consider downloading a decent running app on my phone or something

I had the warm up walk and cool down walk tracked as a walk, then switched to running when running 🏃🏻‍♀️( Apple Watch also) 😊
