Was 14 days with no run.... now it's only 1!! 😊

Good morning everyone 😊😊

I've been a bit quiet lately as I haven't been running. As a family we are going through some changes (my sister with whom I am very close to has emigrated to Switzerland πŸ‡¨πŸ‡) and it has been a wrench. My heart has been on the floor and motivation low. Work has been SO full on as well, I just could not turn my thoughts to when I might find time for a run.

Well, yesterday, the day came πŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ I had a gremlin in my ear telling me it was 14 days since my last run πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ and I was going to lose fitness and have to go back to earlier runs.... so I put on my big girl pants and got out there before the lazy sofa gremlin 😈 got in my ear.

I took a familiar route and wanted to run only 30 minutes, no racibg for pace or distance, just try to do 30). I walked up a hill to warm up and set of at a gentle pace. Then strava piped up at 500m and said "6mins 30seconds" was my current pace which is WAaAAAY too fast for me. I anchored on and by the time I got to 1k I think my time was more like 8mins 30 seconds. Much slower than usual but I actually felt like I could of had a (broken) chat with someone.

It all went rather swimmingly, right to the end. I got to 30 minutes and covered 3.5km, but I felt quite comfortable and was actually enjoying it, so I carried on to 5k.

Yesterday, I realised how people actually say the could carry on... but my sensible gremlin who is always with me told me to stop βœ‹ .

I thought I'd better not push it....

So, yeah. I'm back out there. 2 x30 min (minimum) runs a week will do me for the winter.... and I have the Santa Dash to look forwards to as well πŸŽ…πŸ€Ά

Take care everyone.

I suppose my message is, even after 14 days, it's not too late. In fact, it's never too late. Be kind to yourself and you will do it.

Love this post!! Inspirational person you are! Well done for getting out there! I think I'd think that after 14 days. My body would say might as well forget it. Lol. Good luck for the Santa Dash. 😊

Aww thank you!! I welled up reading your post!

Don't see myself as inspirational but if it helps one person think a bit more positively then that makes me happy 😊 ☺

Nice that you are back running Plattszo, 2 runs a week is fine, since graduation I have only ran twice a week, my Saturday Parkrun or at the moment (not) parkrun and a longer run, usually on a Wednesday. You will miss your sister now that she has emigrated to the land of mountains, Switzerland, who knows she might invite you to visit her sometime in the future and you could go a run up some mountain.

Hey that's a great comeback run Plattszo, sorry you're losing your sis to Switzerland, but hey she's only a phonecall away, and think of those Holidays πŸ‘πŸ™‚

I know..... it looks amazing and so quiet. I can imagine lots of lovely runs over there.... but the England is beautiful too.... her OH is half Swiss and they are moving in together... just happens to be on the continent. We will get used to it!

Well done, Zoe! You got your motivation back in spite of your sister emigrating. Great run! After a 2 week break you went out and did a 5K run! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ’•

Good to have you back Zo, you’ve had a lot going on by the sound of it. Great to hear your return run was a nice comfortable one, 5k too πŸ‘ and most importantly you felt you could have continued....definitely not lost your fitness. Nice preparation for your Santa Dash......is TT60 going to be Santa’s little helper πŸ˜‰

Hey lovely!! Went out in my red devils jacket, must have given me power πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰

It was good to get out there. The 5k was slower than ever before but I think much more enjoyable. . Making me think about trying g it again with a but more distance and stretching it out a bit more... if I have the time at the weekend... we'll see. Beauty is, I'm back at it :) thanks for your undying support πŸ€—
