Finally managed C5 ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ‘

Hey everyone, I finally managed to get out this morning for my 5th consolidation run. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘ No running for the last 12 days as my ankle and toe niggles have needed resting. It has been very frustrating being on the injury bench again - hopefully my body will adapt as I loved being back out there today ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ˜€

I tried to keep it steady and not push things too hard and although very tempted to run further and longer, stuck to the 30m. I covered 4.3k with a very steady - enjoyable even ๐ŸฆŒ - 7m/km pace. I was really pleased with that as Iโ€™ve been worried my fitness was going to take a hit being off the running.

Again my niggles are niggling but Iโ€™ve stretched, showered, iced and balmed and theyโ€™re feeling better.๐Ÿคžfingers crossed Iโ€™m not too bad tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for posting - reading about your successes and journeys has kept my head in the game even though Iโ€™ve been off injured. Hopefully C6 will happen on schedule ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸฆŒ๐ŸฆŒ

Yay- nice to have you back Stone Dragon- full team Gazelle! ๐ŸฆŒ๐ŸฆŒSound like you had a great return run - that was a good pace considering you were taking it easy- beats my distance at 30mins- I need to grow longer legs! Taking it steady and not pushing faster or further for a bit should see you get back into full fitness in no time- well done- enjoy the rest of your Sunday. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐ŸฆŒ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Thanks Bambi - Iโ€™ve really missed running, so was really nice to get back to it! Sounds like nearly all the gang were out today and had really good runs ๐ŸฆŒ๐ŸฆŒ๐ŸฆŒ๐Ÿ‘ Coach Dyre has been ripping me a new one for being a snowflake โ„๏ธ so at least heโ€™s off my back now! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

You have to remember that you werenโ€™t running because you couldnโ€™t be bothered -as the children in my class would say-โ€œ You had a poorlyโ€ ๐Ÿค• so Coach Dyer can do one for a bit ๐Ÿ˜ Follow the advice I give them- be brave, put a wet paper towel on it and it will all be fine๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ Love that - โ€œdo one coach Dyerโ€ and I did have a poorly. I shouldโ€™ve just used some magic cream to sort it out ๐Ÿ˜†

๐ŸฆŒ๐ŸฆŒ๐ŸฆŒGreat to see youโ€™re back in the reins (Iโ€™m getting into the festive gazelle mode). I hope that the niggles can be managed successfully; hopefully just giving yourself extra rest days as needed should work.

Love the photo too: the range of ochres, umbers and gingers are so gorgeous, set off beautifully by the greens and distant mist. ๐Ÿ’•

Thanks GXR - really good to be back in the reins.๐Ÿ˜€ Iโ€™ve been dead jealous reading everyoneโ€™s posts while Iโ€™ve been sulking on the injury bench. ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿคข

Itโ€™s was a pretty drab photo - itโ€™s amazing what a good filter can do to make it pop!! ๐Ÿคซ

Haha! Tricks! My varifocals do something similar. Still. Really like the echoing curves of the path and water too. Canโ€™t imagine you could filter that!

Well done, glad youv'e been able to get out again, after your injuries, and that's a pretty fast pace too! ๐Ÿฅต

Thanks Peter - it was nice that it felt comfortable today and not too shabby a pace. ๐ŸฆŒ I deliberately didnโ€™t look at my pace during the run as I wanted to run by instinct and how comfortable I felt ๐Ÿ‘Œhopefully if I can remain niggle free I can finally hit 5k and then work on getting a little quicker ๐Ÿ‘

Yes, he's back! Good to see you back out there SD and that your niggles have been well rested. So important but so dull, we all feel your pain ๐Ÿ˜‘That is a very good pace considering you were taking it easy getting back into it and so encouraging you've clearly not lost any fitness during your time on the bench ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ช

So good to be back R4UL - I really missed running (who am I? ๐Ÿ˜‚) but Iโ€™ve been living it through my extended running family ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸฆŒ

Itโ€™s been strange, Iโ€™ve been getting up each morning hoping that it would finally be the day where my niggles were good enough for a run and then being gutted that I still had to wait!! I was especially gutted on those crisp and frosty mornings and I thought it wouldโ€™ve made for a beautiful run and some lovely photos ๐Ÿ˜‚โ„๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿป

Wooo good to see another post from you StoneDragon, and to come back with a gazelle run too!! ๐ŸฆŒ๐Ÿฅณ Fingers crossed your niggles recover okay and youโ€™ll be out on your next run sometime soon โ˜บ๏ธ

Cheers LR, as close to a gazelle run as I couldโ€™ve hoped really ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸฆŒ

Iโ€™m elevating, icing and balming again tonight to give me a fighting chance of a quick recovery๐ŸคžI canโ€™t let you lot have all the fun!! ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜†

Really pleased you're back in the game, fab news. What a relief hey ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘. And that is a really good pace. Keep it steady to keep those niggles at bay. Enjoy your return ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜. ๐Ÿข๐ŸŒ๐ŸฆŒ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ™‹

Thank you Buddhagal - I really miss it when I cant run. I'm feeling it a little today but not too bad - hopefully a couple of rest days and I can try for my C6 run on Wednesday ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿ‘๐ŸฆŒ

Well done SD! Best to be safe with the niggles so sticking to 30 probably wise ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป 4.3 is not bad at all either especially as you were taking it steady. Bit of confidence after testing out the injuries and you will be flying in for a sub 30 5k ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

StoneDragon profile image
StoneDragonGraduate in reply to Jericho2332

Cheers Jericho - I'm not sure I'll ever get to sub 30m 5k. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ 6km/m seems so much faster than I run - and way more effort!! ๐ŸฆŒ๐ŸฆŒ I'll just be glad to run every few days without injury days inbetween to be honest ๐Ÿคž
