9 out of 10 of C25K graduates do NOT reach 5k in Week 9. The overwhelming majority are doing around 3.5k.

Despite the catchy title, the program is TIME-based, not distance. You are asked to run for XX minutes, not kilometres.

Def don’t worry about the distance, as John said very few graduate having completed 5K let alone in 30 mins. 3.5k is probably average. But by end of week 9 the 5k is well within your grasp just may take a little longer than 30 mins.

Thanks Sloth.....

I ran a couple of years ago and at my best I did 5K in 40 minutes. I stopped running for several years and just restarted this week. I now run slower than those years ago. So I absolutely won't reach 5K after W9R3, trust me 😉

My plan is to finish the app (W9R3), then do several consolidation runs and only once I feel my body is used to those 30 minutes, I will tey to increase the time gradually until I reach 5K.

Yup, I run 10ks regularly, but my 5k personal best is 32 minutes. 🤷‍♀️Just concentrate on running for 30 minutes continuously. You're doing great. 👍
