W1R3 - a drizzle

Hiya,

Today was my third run and it was raining! Well not exactly raining, it was drizzling. But I went out! Threw up the hood of my rain jacket and pulled a buff up over my nose. Ok, apparently that combination was scary looking, because more than 1 person looked at me oddly. A couple of people with dogs even avoided me (a runner killed a harmless little dog a few days ago, so I think lots of people with dogs are scared of runners now 😞).

Anyhow running in a drizzle is absolutely not horrifying, I actually kinda liked it. Now when it's pouring, I don't know if I would be able to handle that. Drizzle and pouring rain are different still. But proud that I did it 😁. I did get an ache in the abdomen halfway, but I did succeed in fulfilling the whole run.

On to W2R1!

Cheers, Blacky

Well done for not letting the weather stop you!! So sad to hear about the dog that’s awful ☹️!

Yeah, luckily the guy has been caught. Will probably not get punished for killing the dog (animals don't have rights yet). But he might get punished for carrying a knife. The dog was a little one which just ran alongside him for a moment, did not bite or anything.

I admit that I feel a bit anxious when having to run past a big dog. But I then just take a slight detour through the grass or walk past instead of run. Big animal lover, so can't even imagine hurting a dog, let alone killing it!

In general, as long as they're brought up properly, big dogs are more friendly than small dogs.

I have run after a big dog of previous neighbours that had jumped over a fence in the past to get her back with her owners, but I knew the dog was very kind, despite many people being scared of it. So it is not that I am scared scared of dogs in general. But I am not tall and a big dog can push me over easily even if just playing. And having their muzzle at the same height as my face...

I don't think it will ever happen. But you never know that some bunny catching instinct gets tickled when they see me run past 😂. So I prefer making a detour or walking past instead of running.

And yeah small dogs can be feisty. My mom got bitten in the ankle by a small dog just in passing it. I love all animals (have 2 cats), but the possible bite of a dog does scare me a bit. So I rather give it a wide berth 😉

Have you big ears and a white fluffy tail? 🐇

The ears: yes.

The tail: no.
