This was my 4th run in 8 days, proof that I am indeed getting fitter. I’ve only been in serious danger of not completing one of these runs and that was Wednesday’s. Today and Friday’s runs represent real progress. I felt at the end of today I could have carried on for a couple more minutes. I’m away working until Tuesday so Wednesday will be my next run and I’ll try and increase the time by 2 minutes.
My downhill route may be easier than running up hill and down dale but if it allows me to finish and increase the time that can only good, right?
Anyway, despite a questionable night’s sleep, I felt really good and the times bear this out as I ran my fastest first km in 7.10 and I actually ran 4K in the 30 mins rather than the 3.88km I usually run. My ability to run 5K outside in 30mins looks questionable at this stage, especially given the whole distance I cover is run in my heart rate peak zone, but I can see definite progress and my lungs seem to be behaving themselves.
The best news is that I am 5lbs lighter than yesterday. I actually forgot to eat dinner yesterday (first time for everything) due to being on the phone all night, I also have an idea that my body retains water over zealously giving heavier readings at times but the long term effects of this exercise regime may now be kicking in.
My skinny latte and pecan crumble cake were guilt free this morning!
