Should have taken notice of my weather app ! πŸ€”πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€”

So my weather app showed dry at 11:00 for 1hour then rain at 12:00 for 1 hour .

At 11:30 it looked fine so decided to go !

Started running at around 11:45,

Just as the rain was coming πŸ˜πŸ€”πŸ˜‚

Ah well, I'm out now !

I had a very light shower proof jacket over my running top.

It was cold and windy and now getting wetter.

I'm not a big fan of rain running so decided it would be another 5k .

It rained all the way around and then of course stopped after I had been home about 15 minutes 😐

So, home now , stretches done and a quick lunch .

And guess what ! ?

The sun is out just as the weather app said it would πŸ™„

Many people love running in the rain, so you seem to have enjoyed that 5K while the rain was on, well done πŸ˜€ πŸƒπŸΎ

Yes, if was ok, but should have waited an hour 😁

I have an excellent app with a map of where I live, it's called "Weather and Radar" it shows cloud cover, rain and you can fast forward it to see when the next rain is due, I find this weather app about 95%accurate.

I use the Netweather Radar app, which does what its name claims.

Oh, my app was right , give or take 10 minutes !

It was me that ignored it for some unknown reason πŸ˜‚

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduateβ€’ in reply tonowster

That is a good app as well, however, there was a day last winter when it was snowing outside, the Netweather app told me the snow was only on the hills above 1500 feet, this new Weather and Radar App told me the snow was above 300 feet which is where I am, so that's the one I now use.

Oh, I'm happy with the app

Just not my decisions 🀣

Isn’t that just typical ! I went out at 6:45am today fortunately before the rain, I’d planned to go out tomorrow, but I looked at my weather app and there’s a 70% chance of rain here in the morning. Well done on completing another 5k albeit a soggy oneπŸ‘πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

Thanks, yes , typical πŸ™„Ahh well, at least it was a run !

My weather app said rain at 9, so I left at 8am in lovely dry weather. 2 k in the rain started! Why does this happen?

I am with you not keen on running in the rain. I am now looking out the window to a beautiful blue sky, but I also know if I don’t go first thing I never go πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

I feel for you, no fun getting soaked. Well done for carrying on regardless. I must admit I’m grateful today’s my rest day, but I’ll probably catch the clouds tomorrow. I find the thought of running in the rain is worse than doing it, but I agree never trust the weather app πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ˜¬

ETA: whoops in your case trust the weather app, I find mine wrong most of the time. Will try AlMorr’s suggested app, thanks

πŸ˜‚Accuweather is my friend

I went out at lunchtime. It said rain in 20 minutes. Guess what - it started raining after 18 minutes. It wasn't too heavy so I didn't mind. I quite like it as long as it isn't torrential

Instructor57 profile image

Yes, these weather apps are getting quite accurate πŸ€”πŸ‘

Haha! Well, I can’t blame you for not believing the forecast, they are so often wrong 😬

At least you went out and ran for 5K πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ Running in the rain has one big positive - the hot shower after you get home is divine πŸ˜€πŸ‘

I’m having a rest day, so was riding my new bike round the garden. Success! I managed not to fall off today πŸ˜‚ and even tried a gear change. No rush! Going out with a friend on a straight bike ride next to the river next week. What could possibly go wrong? πŸ˜‚

Instructor57 profile image

Thanks Jools , at least I got another run in whic is what I wanted 😁

Ooh , bike ride next to the river , as you say, what could possibly go wrong πŸ€”πŸ˜‚

I love the idea of you riding round the garden! I remember my daughter learning to ride her bike in the garden. She fell off, got on again....and on and on! Quite a trooper, as you are!

Jools2020 profile image
Jools2020Graduateβ€’ in reply toRoxdog

I’m rubbish! But yes, a trooper. I will do it. I only fell off once, but it was more like a slow keeling over as the bike was in the wrong gear πŸ˜‚. I had to google how to change gears.

Instructor57 profile image
Instructor57Graduateβ€’ in reply toJools2020

Hmm....I had s 30 minute test ride from the shop before I bought mine , they went through all the gears with me

Jools2020 profile image
Jools2020Graduateβ€’ in reply toInstructor57

There was nowhere to have a test ride. He did try to explain the gears but I didn’t really understand. My brain had switched off!

Instructor57 profile image

Have a look on YouTube, there are a lot of bike related videos .

And some for how to change gears πŸ‘

Altho can’t help but think you’ve missed most of the summer πŸ™ˆ

I love a nice bike ride ... tho have to say it sometimes feels harder than running! πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ€£

Erm....Bicycle, water - I wonder? πŸ€”

Reminds me of when I was a kid when me and my brother went for a bike ride. Approaching a big lake on a downward slope, I turned the handlebars but my brother didn't. He did a beautiful swan dive over his handlebars straighti intothe lakeπŸ˜‚

The lake was only 18" deep and a passser by fished him and his bike out. But guess who got it in the neck when we got home?

Oh bad luck! You might have to learn to love the rain πŸ˜‚

Glad you're getting out again regularly, must be 3 times this week!

I generally don't like wet weather but seem to like running in the rain, despite the initial horror!

But no, can't love the rain πŸ˜‚

Always the way Ian

I’ve been for a lengthy walk today with friend and stayed mainly dry apart from a really heavy shower for about 15 minutes .... enough to soak you! πŸ™ˆπŸ€£

Well done for getting out there πŸ‘πŸ‘

It is usually the opposite for me. As soon as my Climacell app says it is going to rain, I get ready with my cyclocross bike for some fun in the mud. :D
