The weather

I hate to say it but the weather is really putting me off. I find the cold temperatures and dampness affects my breathing (I’m an asthmatic). I’ve tried various ways of covering my mouth and nose but it’s still an effort.

I know consolidation means I should be running three times a week, but as I’m not I’m worried my fitness levels will soon begin to drop. I’m over 60.

Any advice?

RR, I’m exactly the same. At 57, I won’t go out in rain or if it’s very windy. But I just make sure to do the 3 runs, even if it takes more than a week. Your fitness will still improve, just more slowly. I still have my week 9 run 3 to do - it’s probably 11 or 12 weeks since I started C25k. The main thing is to keep on keeping on. Good luck!

Thank you. I will aim to still run, as when I’m out there and the conditions are right I really enjoy it.
