Did my fastest 5k today 😁

Ran in the rain and wind but fully prepared for it. Baseball cap so the glasses don’t get splattered with rain βœ… Cheap headphones so I’m not panicking about them getting ruined βœ… Suitable amount of clothing βœ…

And off I went. All good except for the fact that despite being very wet it was mild and wearing a baseball cap made me feel uncomfortably warm but it was better to be warm than the alternative - rain splattered specs.

I enjoyed this one. I felt like I had a bit more to give but decided to make my way home while I still felt good. I have felt great all day because I ran - there’s no other explanation.

As an aside, I have been *suffering* (not really the right word) with hip pain and have realised that I need to do extra exercises and stretches for that so the last few says have been a mix of running joy combined with hip flexor exercises to minimise the discomfort I’ve been experiencing.

So I’m feeling fitter AND better educated πŸ˜‚πŸ˜Š

Try a light weight running cap. Something like this one I have. Great in the sun too (white).

I ran on Friday after not β€˜getting my act together β€˜ all week.

I felt brilliant all day , nothing would have sucked the joy out of my day πŸ˜‚βοΈ

I agree it was the run . ( possibly only applies to the good ones maybe πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ)

"Splattered specs" I feel your pain! Good idea about cap!

Having a cap on makes running in the rain so much easier - I’ve tried without one and it was carnage πŸ˜‚

I agree, I always run with a light weight running cap whether I’m wearing my glasses or contact lenses. It doubles as a disguise and a sweat band lol. 🧒 it’s my uniform that transforms me into a runnerπŸƒπŸ½β€β™€οΈ

Well done, that cap works in the rain doesn’t it? one run i ended up taking my glasses off because they were so wet i couldn’t see, and that was fun πŸ˜€ a very blurry world

It feels much loser than it should for half way through november but i guess it’ll get cold at some point

I wouldn’t be safe running without glasses - am blind in one eye and shortsighted in the other so no depth perception is also a factor. Not complaining though - one working eyeball ha better than none πŸ˜‰

Yes much better, I have double vision so it’s a case of which path to follow? lol πŸ˜‚

Good to read your solutions. The hip flexor niggles sound very much like ones I had a fortnight or so ago, now barely noticeable. I found these:

runnersworld.com/health-inj...

For some reason, I’m especially fond of the last one (skating squat)... perhaps it reminds me of youthful adventures to the rink. Then again, maybe not: my skating was always more of a wobbly shuffle.
