So since my last post where I did my first 6km, I did a second 6km and got absolutely drenched and a few days after that I did a 5km which was 2mins quicker than my previous (and slowest 5km)
Today I went out to do a 5km and I knew I was running better than I have in a long time and bosh, I ran my fastest 5km today! Just what I had hoped would happen when I decided to complete a couple of 6km runs. I'm so happy and it's only a 30 second improvement. ππ
Got home, put the bins out and today is weighing day... I have lost 5lb in a week! β
My partner has been amazing and kept us both on plan with healthier eating and I have no doubt in my mind that this is what would have helped my improved time.
Have an amazing weekend all. πͺπͺ

Well done Kish247, itβs a great feeling when you achieve a personal best. This running malarkey makes you crave healthier food as you see it as fuel for your runs I find. I also use the Nike Run Club app, you canβt beat a bit of Coach Bennettβs wit and wisdom to get you through ππββοΈ
Something similar is working for me. I have been doing my consolidation runs at a deliberately slow pace, gradually extending the distance from under 4K to 5K. Over the two months my default pace has increased from 9 minutes per Km to around 8 without even trying. π
