Headed out to Battersea Park expecting to be running in the rain, so was dressed in my new running jacket (so pleased with it!!!) however, rain held off!
Felt a little nervous what my time would be today as I ran my best time on my last run so I decided to take the pressure of myself and just enjoy my run and not look at my watch till I got near to 5k on my very familiar route. Well, what a lovely surprise I got what I realised I had already ran 4.50km and ended up running 5k in 29 minutes and 48 seconds something I never imagined I would have been able to do when I started C25K.
I am so thrilled and focused to start the 10k training next week!!!
Thank you for all the inspiration, motivation and support.
I know I was so surprised just enjoyed the run and stopped looking at my watch. I am really excited now about starting the 10plan, I have scheduled in my runs for the first two weeks on my days of work. Going to factor in a couple of little treats as well (running clothes!).
Exciting times! Yes, treats are good π. I need a couple of long sleeved running tops! Trouble is, Iβm going to take up cycling as soon as I can get a bike, so Iβll need cycling clothes as well!
No, I shall have to buy a complete new wardrobe of clothes! Well, maybe my running tops will be ok. Iβll need padded shorts or probably tights this time of year. Maybe bib shorts. Maybe both π Cycling jackets are longer at the back, to cover your back when you are bent over cycling. Special gloves. Crash helmet oooh my, the bank balance is going to take a severe hit!! Canβt wait π
Congratulations on completing your first sub 30 minute 5k, well done, good luck for your 10K training next week, once you have completed that you may be able to run a sub 60 minutes 10K.
Ah thank you so much Al, I am really looking forward to getting started. Now that really would be amazing!!
Brilliant brilliant run and great consolidating 9weeks2Run, it's immense when all those C25k runs that sometimes don't make a lot of sense as t first start to pay off as you're now seeing and definitely experiencing π
