So first the good news. My pace today was 7:21km which is 40 seconds faster than my last run πββοΈ π³. Smashed it!!
Forget about not dressing for the cold weather, so ended up with my long βcold weatherβ trousers π on and fleece top again!! Got hot π₯΅ in no time at all.
Bad news - I could only manage 25 minutes and could feel a stitch coming on. So I stopped.
So my question is - is it better to increase my pace or continue running for 30 minutes? Did I start off too fast? π¨ the route I took was more uphill inclines which I find hard so I am very pleased with my run considering that.
Have a lovely day all. xxπ

Very well done on your run - it was a cracking pace, so perhaps the stitch was not surprising β and certainly your body was asking you to slow down a bit! π The whole point about βconsolidationβ is ....that is exactly what you are meant to be doing β 30 minutes 3x a week for a few weeks. π At the end of C25K, you are still a very new runner and need to gain miles on your legs. If you do too much too soon, you risk injury. (After any program when you have built-up time and distance, itβs good to plateau for a while and make yourself comfortable with what you have achieved. (e.g I consolidated for a while after C25K, then after building up to running for an hour, now I am building up to 10 K and when I achieve that I will consolidate that for a while.)
After consolidation, the worldβs your oyster. If you want to work on speed or distance, you can β although not both at the same time.
