So the back is still very sore and the pain radiating into the front of the rib cage but it does seem to be getting a little better in that tying my laces only indices mild cussing. 😝 I could have run yesterday but miserable dreary weather and a ribcage that was twinging at a every movement said nah. Sat and watched "The Longest Day" in front of the fire instead, accompanied by lots of we've been there comments when St Mere Eglise and Pegasus bridge appeared on screen. Followed up by a great win by Exeter Chiefs to become champions of Europe. A very enjoyable, if not comfortable afternoon. However, when I got up and stretched, I got a massive clunk out of the back and my evening was somewhat more comfortable.
Was determined (needed to) run today, and was confident that my back would be OK as long as I kept to paved paths and roads. I have realised that the uneven surfaces of footpaths are not good, as the rapid changes in direction and levels aggravate my spine.
My goals today were to A, enjoy the run, B, extend the distance & C, pick up the pace a bit, withrespect to my runs of late. I am glad to say that I achieved all three.
Another bonus is that I have lost another couple of kilos and now weigh in at 88Kg.
Life could be a lot worse, and would be if I wasn't running.
Have a great week all.
