Halfway through my run today I felt my old achilles injury come back but decided to hobble on and finish the run, I've been nursing the injury for the last couple of weeks by stretching and using creams etc but today's pain was the worst it's been, hopefully with a few days rest and stretching I can get back on the course for week 4 as I'm really enjoying the challenge.

Look after yourself, Monaco4.

You will soon be back and fitter than ever.

I've had just that same experience and feel both your pain and frustration. In fact, Achilles/calf problems dogged me for quite a few years intermittently. Since it is such a pivotal area to injure, I'd very strongly advise a physio visit if you're able to, to ensure the appropriate treatment, the right preventative exercises and professional advice on when it is safe start running again. Not a wholly positive "get well and back at it" post I know, but my repeated injuries had such an effect on me, both from an exercise perspective AND a consequent mental health one, that I wanted to help you to avoid that spiral yourself.

Thanks That's good advice , I'll give it a few days to calm down and then I can decide what treatment I need.
