Today was the day I’ve had in my sights even before my injury at the beginning of week 4. It’s always been looming there (hands up I’m one of those people who NEED to know what’s coming up)
Well I was very nervous before W5R2 but as I finished it finding it not too bad after all, I finally started to believe I might actually be able to run for whole 20 minutes!
Cue this morning, having forgotten to set my alarm, waking up at 7.30 instead of 6 and because it was light could see the rain lashing down 🙈. Well I thought what the heck, husband can sort the kids out, I’m going for my run.
I had planned to take my usual route which has no inclines and also I have a pretty good idea of the timings of landmarks. I had a minor indecision as to whether I should as this route is notorious for flooding at a drop of a hat and even if not properly flooded would be very puddlesome💦. But decided that I could always turn back. However those gremlins followed me until I could see it was ok. (Some wet feet moments though)
After that I thought come on let’s get this done. Half way come and went and it all seem a bit easier, especially as I was on my way back and at this point it would be hard to get wetter 🤣.
The grin is still firmly on my face and I think it will stay there for a while yet.
