I don't seem to run well in the middle of the day. I don't know why, perhaps its because I've not taken on enough calories and water during the day? (Total respect for those who run early in the morning in that case!) Either way, today was a slog.
It shouldn't have been either as I got dropped off at the top of a big hill to give me a head start and make it easier on myself (is that cheating?πif so I probably deserved the slog ), but as soon as the ground flattened out, and a few inclines in between, it just got harder and harder to keep going.
In fact the only thing that did keep me going was sheer stubbornness, looking at the count down clock from time to time and knowing that I didn't want to have to go back and repeat the run... oh, and all my run buddies on this forum who were silently cheering me on (whether you knew that's what you were doing or not!). A big thank you to all of you π
Onward to run 2...later in the day next time!

You persevered with that run, well done, better to run when you feel most comfortable, whether it's 6am, 12 noon, 6pm or later, onwards and upwards to run 2 of week 8 later than run 1πβ
Well done on keeping going and getting it done. I don't know if it is the time of day or not but some runs are definitely more of a slog than others. As for being dropped at the top of the hill - definitely not cheating! I have just got home from W8 R1 too and I deliberately picked the route from home that goes down the steepest hill first π
Tough run... good job it met a tougher runner. Great job. Sometimes we have to use our stubbornness and drag ourselves over the finish lines... not a bad skill to have in your locker.
I think we all have a favourite time of day, just when your body feels up for exercise. For me it's early because I haven't spent energy on other things. But today has to be an exception, it's pouring so I'll be out there later when it's meant to ease up a bit.
Well done for persevering, sometimes you just have to get through it which you did!
Good luck with your πββοΈ today and I hope the rain eases a bit for you π
Until then, enjoy watching the London marathon. Itβs very different this year due to Covid but for the first time Iβll watch it and get a small sense of what theyβre going through! π
