Sorry Burkey, I didn’t make it. I started off faster than usual thinking I was going to do a PB but I then realised that I wasn’t feeling great. It was torrential rain and very windy and I got to 5 minutes and my legs felt heavy but I carried on ignoring it. I got to 10 minutes and i seemed to be struggling worse than normal. Siouxsie And The Banshees were keeping me going through the pain. My left air pod fell out of my ear at 15 minutes and I stooped down to pick it up and I almost stopped running such was my fatigue. My ankle was fine but I was feeling really sick. I hadn’t over done the eating but I had cereal 75 minutes before my run but my acidic stomach seemed to be putting me through the wringer. At 20 minutes I was feeling sick, tired and out of sorts. I asked myself if I was going to make it to the end and I really didn’t think I would. So I hate to report that I stopped running.
I think a combination of the five days I took off for my ankle, starting off too fast and the awful wind and rain did for me today, plus the feeling of sickness. I run better before breakfast. However, I don’t feel too despondent, I’ve been here before. I’m not going to say that I’ve fallen at the last hurdle but rather this was a warm up run for the main event which I’ll run on Sunday at 7am before work.

Sorry to hear that you’re not feeling great. We have those kinda days.
I was due to do my r2 this morning but the weather is absolutely torrential 😢. Hats off to anyone running in this weather, in hoping it will subside a bit later and do it then.
The important thing is that you listened to your body and made the right decision. Push it too much and you will feel worse.
You haven’t fallen at the last hurdle, you are being sensible and you managed 20 mins too in those conditions! You still ran ! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks Jules. I really thought I was going to be sick. Such a horrible feeling. There is something going on with stomach acid I might need to investigate.
I started taking those last year but they made me feel worse, had to stop taking them. Breakfast probably didn’t help. I don’t eat before I run. Hope you feel better soon.
Well done you! Yes the conditions were absolutely appalling. It was more the feeling of sickness than anything that stopped me today. The last time this happened I went out the same day and completed it. Not sure I’ll do that today but I’m proud of you. Congrats!! 💪🤗
Sorry to hear about you not feeling well on your run but it sounds like you did the right thing and like you say, it's a warm-up for Sunday. Best of luck for tomorrow, I know you'll smash it!
What a warm up dodgylungs!!!! I love your positive attitude - getting out there is never a mistake and I don’t think any run should ever be discounted - especially given the 20mins you completed. What a thought that would have been 9’weeks ago.
Enjoy your run on Sunday. Hopefully the sun will be shining all the way 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
