Was doing my w6r1 today and during the 8 minute run I slipped on wet grass. Fortunately was not injured but only embarrassed and covered in mud. I was able to get back on track after a minute or 2 and finish it off. Glad I was in the park and I didn't fall in the street. Has anyone else fallen over while running or am I just very clumsy?!

Took a tumble
Sorry about your fall but I am glad that you were not seriously hurt and managed to carry on with your running, yes there have been reports from runners who have had more serious falls than you resulting them being off running for weeks and sometimes months, you are not clumsy, just a little accident.
Tripped up a kerb, landed against and into the street sign, broke two ribs as a result.
Did the usual, jumped up refused help said I was ok and ran off.
Only when I stopped five minutes later did it really hit home what I’d done.
Welcome to the forum and well done
on your progress.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Enjoy your journey.
Yeah me ! this morning! I was running on the street, missed my footing on a kerb and took a tumble scraped my hand, which ended up bleeding and hit my shoulder.....I’m ok though, had to happen one day I suppose, hopefully we’ve both got that out the way 🤪
Yep, went round my usual corner and fell in the river (to be fair I was dark and had been raining 🤦♀️) finished off my run cold and wet but hey ho 🤣🤣🤣
Guess part of running is spotting potential trip hazards. I spotted a tree root but tripped before even got to it! In 5 months fallen twice on uneven ground and both times needed couple of weeks as find knees swell up and painful. So.best to recover well.otherwise exacerbates any injury. Luckily on my own except for dog who now faithfully stays with me on those stretches - he was one who witnessed my tears. Good luck - watch out on metal if wet (pavement manhole covers etc) and carry on with dignity! 😊
Yes! On week 7 I tripped over a root and fell head first into the pavement. Passers by stopped to check I was ok, and I insisted I was, and started running again, a few minutes later I burst into tears and walked to the remainder!
I had completed couch to 5k without falling, had to stop for couple of weeks during it due to painful knee, but no falls.
However trying to continue running, I was just coming to the conclusion that I don't enjoy it that much, that I'm not getting faster or improving my distance, when I tripped on a tree root, my elbow, palm and knee stopped me, however had a gash in my hand and four gouges on my knee, luckily legggings didn't rip!!
Haven't been out since, I will do though, just waiting for knee to heal. At least no one saw me and I did get up & carry on!
I can certainly sympathise. I nearly gave up around W5 after a number of tripping incidents including 2 in one run! Fortunately most, like yours, were on relatively soft ground and none as severe as some other replies on here!
The only bad one was as I crossed a gravel path which left me with both forearms covered in cuts and grazes and a huge swollen lump on one arm. I actually had an X-ray to check it wasn’t broken (I’ve a history with broken wrists!). For me it’s always the embarrassment of have I been spotted first and then ‘have I injured myself?’
Be careful out there 🙂
Sorry about your fall! I bet a lot of people do it at some time or other. My problem is tree roots in the woods which have caught me out a couple of times resulting in skinned knees. So far, though, absolutely no other injuries in spite of not understanding how to do some of the recommended stretches and inventing some of my own.
I run through the woods partly because I enjoy it and partly because it’s nicer than running over the alternative wet grass because my shoes seem designed to let in water. I’m currently waiting on some light waterproof trail shoes, as I may need to avoid the woods when the leaves fall and obscure the roots 🥴
