In fact, when I got back from visiting my Dad last night I'd actually said to my son Ryan that I was 'in the mood for a run'. What????? :)))) I was bouncing around and really tempted to go let off some energy. Instead I glugged a load of water and had an early night.
Woke up this morning, not quite so bouncy but still feeling like it was going to be a good day. Did my dynamic stretches, (hark at me with the terminology), sorted out my tunes and mentally planned a slightly different route and off I went.
First half was quite fast, well fast for me anyway and I did wonder if i'd blow it by not having enough in the tank to complete the second half, but nope, kept ploughing on and I noticed my style today was less shuffle and more bounce in my stride. Maybe it's because i'm a bit lighter now than when I started.
Don't know what did it and where all this energy had come from but I totally smashed today's run, strongest one so far yet and even gave it some extra welly in the last couple of minutes!! Whilst i'm not focused on speed and distance just yet, there was noticeable improvements on this run that really boosted my confidence...just saying :)))
Well done!! Sounds like you’re moving onto another level of fitness/enjoyment. That sounds like a truly awesome run and we who are about to run salute you (to paraphrase Gladiator).
Great to hear you felt so good. I feel like that sometimes but it hasn't yet translated into faster 'jogging'. In my head I'm running gracefully round the park but the reality is a panting middle aged woman with a dog running gracefully!😂
Wow Burkey. Brilliant!!!! You are putting us to shame!!!! I always look forward to reading your posts and this one has put the biggest smile on my face. I am Delighted you had such a fabulous run. It sounds like all your hard work is definitely reaping rewards for you. Well done.
