It’s Thursday - so the day of my 30 minute/4K run. I am enjoying my plan!

I’m not really enjoying the darker mornings as there is more traffic about, especially towards the end of my run.

The air quality wasn’t so good this morning, so I used my inhaler about 15 minutes before I left the house. I decided that I wouldn’t push for personal bests, but that I would try for a slower first kilometre and then increase pace gradually for negative splits.

Off I set, ELO 🎶 through the headphones 🎧 and immediately realise I’m going too fast, so make an effort to slow down! First km 7’20”, so that’s OK. I stop looking at my watch, but try by feel to increase pace gradually through the remaining 3 km, just checking my watch occasionally.

I turn up the infamous Deadend Track, vowing to find a more interesting route even if I have to get in the car and drive to it! Something I haven’t got round to doing, yet. That track is definitely losing its appeal!

When I come out of the track back onto the main road, I’m on my last km. it feels slow, but a glance at my watch shows a good pace. I felt it was a good run, only just missing the negative splits I was after by a few seconds on the 2nd km. My stats show I was pushing myself hard, which was probably due to the air quality.

Already looking forward to my long run on Saturday!

Yes, I have noticed more traffic now as my run ends later !

I also need to find some new routes !

I want somewhere else for the longer runs .

Haha, the negative splits are tricky, 😁

I’ve got a nice route for 10K. But I think I might need some new ones! Yes, I’ve only done one successful negative splits run! This one was close, though. 😊

Another good run Jools!

I'm nowhere near cracking my pace like that.

I'm aiming for a slow 7k tomorrow as part of the magic plan so I need to make sure I don't set off too quickly. I'd like to do it in 65 minutes, I did 6.5k for my 60 minute badge but we will see.

That's a lovely pic of the Church - there are so many pretty Churches in Norfolk and Suffolk.

BTW if you are looking for new routes you might be interested in this website. I recommended it to Ian and Roxdog over on Bridge. But be careful - you might find it addictive especially if you like maps as I do 😁

Oh I’ll have a look at that!

I love my slow runs, too. Going on Saturday for 90 minutes. Maybe 10K, I’ll see.

My pace has only recently started to improve, probably because of the slow runs. 😀

I'm off to North Wales for a weeks holiday on Saturday and before you ask, of course I am taking my running kit with me😁

Hi Jools2020 had to move to Marathon running forum as slowly slowly I been running 16.1K (10Miles) believe it or not 😂😂😂 I did it twice so far and received my shiny badge over there 🥇🏃‍♂️🥇but I’m still checking posts on here, bridge to10K, and Marathon running forums...
