Thank you so much to everyone for the posts- I am a frequent reader and infrequent poster.
I’ve tried the program a few times. The last time I got to wk5 r2 and didn’t do well so I decided to repeat. On the way to the park I was rear ended by a large van which resulted in a bad case of whip lash.
I waited for my body to let me know it was ok to start shin and finally I’ve reached catch up point. I completed week 5 run 3 this morning and felt so strong- I loved it. Many thanks to IannodaTruffe for his post about week 5. It was a great help.
Only now am I realising the wisdom in slowing down. I was able to run comfortably for 20 minutes today but only because I wasn’t trying to break any records for pace.
Bring on week 6!
ThNk you all,
Angela

Slowing down is an epiphany for many.........makes it doable, much more enjoyable and is actually a more efficient pace at which to develop your running body.
Stay slow for the next run........it catches many out.
TiredHappyBeginner mentions that your post about week 5 helped her. Would you be so good as to send a link to that post please if such a thing is possible. I’m about to start week 4 and week 5 is perhaps in my sights!
I found your post inspirational. Having just completed Run 1 at 73 (almost 74) I'm looking forward to progressing through the programme. Thank you for posting.
You won’t regret starting this fantastic program- running is for everyone and not just those enviably fit and healthy youngsters who fly past me in the park! Congratulations on completing run 1. Many people here say that it is the hardest one.
