Reflections on the C25k experience

My first time posting after a three month journey and two runs remaining till graduation 🙂 As thrilled as I am to be nearing the end of the program it’s also tinged with a little melancholy; I have so enjoyed becoming a “runner”, even though there have been set-backs along the way, and what has been most rewarding is the overall progress I’ve made. I remember being so proud of my W1R1 attempt (to the extent of taking a very sweaty post-run selfie) and it’s shocking to me that I can now run for 30 mins! But I will be sad to say goodbye to Michael and I’m now thinking about how I can continue running and find a future challenge, especially as 5k events are unlikely to be making a return anytime soon. What have other people got planned for keeping this journey going?

Welcome to the forum.

When you announce your graduation I will send you a link to a guide to post C25k running.

If you cannot wait, it is sitting in the FAQ Posts, which you will find in the Pinned Posts.

This is just the start.

You are doing very well on your C25K journey, not long now until you graduate, you ask what other people plan once they have graduated, after several 30 minute consolidation runs you can try the C25K +Stepping Stones podcasts with Laura which are pace, speed and stamina, after that if you wish to run a 10K try Ju Ju's Magic 10 plan, not an app but a training course a little like C25K.

Thank you! I am motivated by challenges so those will give something to work on 🙂

You may find you enjoy the freedom of running without Michael! The period post graduation is an interesting one and I think that period is when you discover what kind of runs you feel best doing and enjoy the most. Keep an open mind and look forward to the next stage, because it is pretty exciting!

I totally agree with you.

I completed w7r2 today and even though I have a little way to go I really don’t want to come to the end.

The sense of achievement is amazing.

The structure of C25k has been so important to me.

To be honest at 59 I never expected to a enjoy it so much and b feel so proud in completing each run.

It’s an experience I’ll never forget.

Yes it’s definitely the structure that has made this possible; I would have struggled and probably would have been defeated if I’d attempted to do this alone. I’m proud of us both!
