All being well, my final run of C25K will be tomorrow. The last nine weeks have been an incredible journey. Obviously the biggest and best aspect is that I have completed the program. I have gone from the stereo-typical couch potato to running non-stop for 30 minutes and covered 5k. I have also chatted with some great, fun and inspirational guys here on the forum. The forum has been the most wonderful outlet for my joy and frustrations over the past nine weeks.
But now, the first part of the journey is over and it is time to start to look at how I am going to take what I have achieved and not only continue but go on to improve and take it up to the next level. So I have now registered on the National Park Run site and I plan to start running those every Saturday morning (okay, most Saturday mornings). I have also registered for a special local 5k event in August.
Once summer is out of the way and the cooler weather returns, I then plan to step up to the Bridge To 10K program and after that . . . . who knows.
One thing is for sure, I have caught the running bug and I have no intention of stopping now. I can also promise, that although I hopefully graduate tomorrow, this forum has not heard the last of me. Getting through this would have been a whole lot tougher if it wasn't for the support I have received here. So in return, I will still be here to support and encourage those who are just starting their journeys.
Thank you all and here's to the next step!
