It’s kinda the same one too! 6th consolidation run was uneventful and run at what I’ll now refer to as recovery pace. Lovely mid morning run and very quiet in the park today, just me, the ducks and two dog walkers.
So, now I start the road to 5k, starting at 5k 😂. Following a race plan as of Wednesday and will see what the old legs can do. I’m strangely looking forward to some sprint sessions, and my plan has obligingly served up 6x200m in the middle of next week. Also looking forwards to slowly increasing the long run to 5.75 miles before Christmas... that may become 6.25 to do the 10k 😈
I also realised I’ve now been running for 5 months in total, some of that was before I found C25K and maybe i shouldn’t count it, but I’m gonna! Those runs really were a car crash and a half... I’d have given up if I hadn’t walked a parkrun and been told about this plan.
Anyone just starting out... this is the right plan to become a runner with, and this is the right group of people to be around while doing it. Thanks again to everyone who’s inspired me on my journey so far. Let’s run together lots.

Cheers... I’ve been on a bit, think I missed a run off my posts. I can totally do that position in the photo too... I can show any of you that I meet... will just need you and three of four friends to lift me into it and catch me about 5 seconds after letting go!
Sounds brilliant UNM!! You so should count all of your running and be very proud of not giving up but finding a different plan that has worked so well for you. 🤩 As an ex-runner getting back to it must feel fantastic too. I look forward to reading about your continued running adventures VRB!! 🤗😍❤️
Well done. Like you I plan to keep consolidating 5K for another month, build up a little more strength, then I’ll start extending a run too and do some speed work at the track.
Get back up to 10K in the new year and work on a sub 30 min Parkrun. Will hopefully next summer fingers crossed be into PB territory again. Reading your posts will keep me motivated.
Well... I imagine that I’ll be too drunk by the end of my marathon to notice the medal, consume the boxed bottle of wine or maybe even don the shirt 😂
I don’t know that other than that I’ll ever enter a race as such... but I will be posting on here about booking time to see if anyone else fancies the most ridiculous way to do 26.2 that I can find.
Well done UNM - good luck for the next phase of your plan :-D. You are an inspiration! So organised and level headed about it all! Your posts are so helpful and always spur me on. Thanks so much!
