Off for my weekly 5K today after missing out last week due to tweaking my hamstring in the previous week. Didn't think much of it at the time as I was only walking back up a slope from a long slow 7K and felt it pull. Was niggled by it all the following week and still get twinges so taking it steady. Must have given it a bit of a pull though as my daughter commented last week "What's that on the back of your leg Dad?" and promptly took a photo. Ouch!!!!!!!!
Anyhow just a steady run today on a new route by the University and hoping to get back to full fitness soon🏃👍

Not too bad. Warmed up loads and dynamic stretches and ran with leggings on to keep muscles warm but ended up being far too hot so turned it into a jog more than a run🤒
Take it steady with that return MontyMooDog - this bruising is caused by bleeding from tears within the muscle. Healing can take some time and you are at increased risk of a further tear until it has healed properly. 🤞
Thanks. Just got to persevere but at least I'm out. Might try a bit of cycling too over the next week or two🚴 but playing golf with my 2 sons tomorrow 🏌️
I had quite a serious tear there in my hamstring and it took maybe 5 or 6 months to fully recover I think. I tried to run on it earlier but felt if I continued it would do more harm than good.
