Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears.
Just a quick one.
Is it ok to go for long walks on rest days? I want to walk the 5K just to assess how long it will be along the cycle path. Give me a visualisation of what I want to achieve.
Cheers.

I think that’s a good plan. I’ve done that before and I always cover my daily 10,000 steps on rest days. 😊
Sounds like the perfect plan to me. Walking is great gentle excercise for rest days.😁
I've done this several times, normally with (definitely non-runner) hubby on a Sunday afternoon, to scout out new running routes. First couple of times he says to me "What - you're really going to run all this way?". Kudos to me there!👍💪
Yes, absolutely !
I will sometimes go for a walk or a bike ride ,
Check out new Running routes 😁
Hi Maxi80
I walk on my rest days between 3-5km depending on my step count. I aim for 11,000 a day.
I really think in the early days it helps increase my fitness.
No it’s just for enjoyment 💐
Despite the name, it is a time based, not a distance based, plan.
For now, just concentrate on slow-jogging/running for the times specified according to the plan. Don't even consider achieving the 5K distance yet.
Reading other posts on here, at the end of the 9 weeks most people are not achieving 5K. If YOU are achieving 5K after 9 weeks then that will be a super-duper-massive cherry on your personal running cake, but it is not a pre-condition of completing the plan. Good luck with your slow-jogging/running.
If you find walking too melancholy, you can always listen to podcasts, audio books or music while you walk - you'd be amazed how much quicker the time passes and you don't think too much.
