Is it ok for me to go for a long walk on a rest day? Seems like a silly question and I think I know the answer... but I thought I’d check :)

That's what I do on my rest days! Active rest is better than no movement at all :)

Yes you can Hattie, walking stretches different muscles than running so it will be a good alternative. You can also do strength and flex exercises on a rest day if you aren’t going out.

Anything non-impact is fine.

Yes, definitely. Walk, swim, cycle, gardening, weights, yoga. Anything except impact sports and sitting on the couch!

Hello Hattie! You can do all sorts of exercise on your rest days; the only thing you shouldn’t do is run because the body needs that time to repair itself. So yes, go and enjoy those walks!

Yep, a long walk is fine, I often do that 👍 permission granted 😂

My husband did a 2 mile 'fast walk' on alternate days to my run when I was on the program. I used to go with him, but his fast walk was nothing major for me 😉
