Rest days

What do you guys or girls do on rest days. My legs feel too tight to run or anything strenuous but feel I want to be active in some lighter form. Or am in better just recovering with nothing aggravating.

Walking, swimming, cycling, yoga are all great activities for rest days. Don't do anything too strenuous - just enough to keep those legs from stiffening up.

Hi there.. rest day exercise is really very useful.... by doing it, you reduce the tightness and the risk of running injury.

Try the linked Strength and Flex on rest days, quite a few of us used and still use these:)

Cycling. walking, swimming... gardening !

Make sure you stretch well on rest days too, especially after your runs.. work out a regime of simple exercises and stick to it... A roller or massage stick, can be great for getting rids of knots and tightness!

Thanks. Great advice and will look into that after work.

I love a nice walk on rest days. Gardening is good too. The main thing is to do something you enjoy.

Anything or nothing, so long as it is non impact.

Walking mainly, but now Rignold got me doing squats.... I still can't work out how I became this person!

Dear Levvy 86,

Why not enjoy your good accomplishments by treating yourself to guilt-free rest days. Isn't that the way athletes train, btw? It appears you are taking really good care of yourself, do you have other interests that you can do on the rest days? Such as...? And how about swimming for pleasure on your rest days, if you have a pool or the sea nearby. Wish I had your ambition. Cheers!

Not what you're looking for?
