1st run today after 3 weeks of no running. Had to take a break to get a gait analysis done and get some running shoes as my achilles was getting sore and did not want to do too much damage. Yesterday I went to local running shop to get an analysis and some shoes and I took along the £16 non branded trainers I had done the c25k in and the assistant couldn't believe I had managed to complete the programme in them 🤣 I explained that I hadn't wanted to spend money on decent shoes until I was sure I was going to keep the running going and left with a nice new pair that actually have the support my feet need in them. Myself and my partner went out for the run today with no time, distance or speed in mind but just to start running and see how it went. I was not expecting much as not ran for 3 weeks and in new shoes. When we finished we had done 4k in 33 mins so really chuffed with that and the new shoes were bliss 😍 really enjoyed being back running.
