Having seen the temperature difference between this afternoon and tomorrow morning, I decided to run at17.30 today instead of 7am tomorrow! I know it means that technically I ran two consecutive days, but it was almost two given the times of the runs! Not something I'll make a habit of, but I'm really pleased I did. After sleeping most of yesterday , and lolling around watching the Tour de France today, I was popping with energy and needed to run. Besides, my new Great North Run leggings were begging to be used!
Mentally too, I needed to run to put yesterday's horrible asthma thing behind me and regain some confidence.
So...mindful of all the advice, I used the Fostair and Montelukast in good time, tucked a nice FULL Ventolin into my cleavage (best place for a quick grab if needed!π€£...and yes, take that the wrong way if you will!π), and set off with a plan in mind.
Plan: Get a really good warm up. So I walked briskly up the long, steep, killer hill from my home to the cycle track where I run. (I usually drive up). Then run the cycle track slowly, and back down the lane to home. I didn't think about pace, just put some banging rock music on and ran. It wasn't a very long run, but added to the hilly warm up walk it was nearly 4k , so not too bad.
It went fine. Didn't need to fumble in my cleavage, you'll be pleased to hear, and my breathing was comfortable throughout. It was a bit up and down hills, but plenty of downhill to help with the ups.
So. Phew. I'm really pleased I went and took advantage of the warmer air, but am realising I will have to find ways of dealing with the cold soon. Maybe until I'm back at work it'll be better for me to run later in the day as early mornings on a Co Durham hillside can be a tad chilly.
So...onwards...not given up yet...and hey...I'm actually going almost a minute faster than my graduation pace fairly consistently now.
Happy running all!
