I had a second rest day yesterday as my calves had been aching after Sunday's run. This morning was cooler but very blustery, my calves were fine and I decided to go for my run πββοΈ. I was feeling so positive I decided to run for the first time without my comfort blanket of a bottle of water π². I thought I would die if I didn't take a sip of water every few minutes but I was fine! π€£
As I approached the 30 minute / 4K mark I thought I've got a good chance to keep going and reach the 5K. Then I heard a vehicle coming up behind me and as I run along a single track country road, I turned my head to see if it was something big that I needed to get out of the way of and OUCH!!! I'd twisted my knee π©. I ran for a few steps but realised it was too painful and hobbled the rest of the way home π’. I couldn't call husband to come and get me as he was out on the golf course. β³
So I've been lying on the sofa all afternoon with my feet up. It stiffened up and was very painful when I got up just now but got easier when I walked around the house a bit. I'm not really sure if I should rest it or keep it moving? I certainly won't be running for a while. π
