Having to start over and need inspiration.

In June I was one run away from completing the 9 week plan and I pulled my Patellar Tendon on my knee and couldn’t run for over a month. Now I’m able to run again I’ve been trying to keep the enthusiasm up and am determined to get that last “tick” and trophy, but it’s demoralising not being able to go as far or as fast as I was doing...

Forget distance. Forget pace. It's about running for 30 minutes which you can do at a very gentle jog. Get your GRADUATION badge and build again from there👍😁

Welcome back! Coming back from an injury is always hard but truly inspiring in itself - YOU are the inspiration you need!

Don’t be demoralised by your post injury ability - it’s only temporary and if you go slow and listen to your body you’ll be stronger and back up to speed/distance in no time.

What stage of the plan have you come back in at?

We are all here to cheer you on 🤗

That's such a shame , I had 16 days out after week 8 run 1

All you can sensibly do is go out and see what's comfortable and take it from there .

Your graduation will wait for you !

Good luck 👍

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

I recently had to redo the plan after nearly a year off as a result of a knee injury and with careful build up and I can see my strength building week by week.

Better to be slow and cautious and still running, rather than fast until you get injured again.

Enjoy your journey.

Ouch I feel for you but take it easy, start a few weeks back. You know you've managed to run 30 mins before, you'll get there eventually again.
