I woke up this morning early. It felt cooler so I decided to go for my first 10 minute rehab run - just to see how my ankle felt. I've got the physio coming on Monday so I thought he can check it out AFTER the run. Thkught I'd take it slow but as I neared what I thought would be the half way mark I sped up 'cos I wasn't there! 🤦♀️ Same on the way back, I sprinted to get back to my starting point 🤭 I huffed and puffed a bit (some of it WAS up hill) but I've done it and what's more I went naked. No music, no phone - just my Garmin 😍 I figured I could survive 10 minutes just listening to the birds, cows and traffic although the sound of my heavy breathing did somewhat take that joy away from me. Thinking if the ankle holds up I'll repeat on Saturday - 🤞
CHOKS AWAY.....: I woke up this morning early... - Couch to 5K
CHOKS AWAY.....
That’s such good news, and that’s a good pace too, no wonder you were huffing and puffing a bit,
Looking good 59er, good luck on Saturday, so much nicer to run now it’s cooled down a bit 🤗
Thanks jorgeRuns! Yes, I must admit it'll be more enjoyable and easier when it cools down. Not used to these temperatures in the North 😂
You had me worried at the "what's more I went naked" bit. 🤣
Now that would be weird! 😂
That's fantastic news! I think your cautious approach is the way to go. It also sounds as though you enjoyed the run!
Building up to longer runs might take a while of course, but you'll be back doing them very soon I'm sure. Good luck with the physio, hopefully that will be reassuring.
Take care. 😊
Yes, I did enjoy it. Foot aching a bit now so I'll apply the ice pack. Going to increase the runs very slowly - just by a minute at a time I think. As I said previously, I'd like to improve my stamina - hopefully this will do the trick - who knows? What am I saying - someone out there will know! 🤣
