🥳🎉🥳I’m So excited I just can’t hide it🥳🎉🥳 I can’t believe I actually managed to run and graduate today...
The rain arrived about midnight last night so I thought there’s still hope for tomorrow morning, it will clear the air.
Woke early and I could hear tap, tap, tap... It was someone jogging about 100 yards away at the end of the road!
So...I thought, this is it...
I could feel a slight breeze, daren’t look at humidity on my phone as that would definitely put me off after the last run...So kit on off we go!
Seemed to settle into the run better today as I have been telling myself...SLOW and SLOWER...
I really think it helped today and got into a rhythm before Laura said 5 mins...
I did forget to start my watch, but hey Ho!
Seemed quieter today and all went really well. I remembered to turn back but allowed myself a good walk home to enjoy the moment!
It’s Amazing to think just over 9 weeks ago I couldn’t run from one lamp post to the next and I’ve just run for 30 minutes!
For me this really is amazing as I have no confidence and never dreamt I could do this.
It was quite a late decision during lockdown, I’ve always been keen on fitness, I used to jog around the block but no structure to it and I’d walk and cycle. During lockdown I’d walk for a good hour, extend it and then wanted to run during the walk so having seen my son progress from C25k this was it. It took me a couple of goes on week 1 to get started as I was having a battle with the first week, but never looked back.
Thank you everyone, the encouragement on this forum is truly amazing,
Slow and slower is my motto!
I am 70 at Christmas if I can do it anyone can!
Next goal will be to actually get to 5k...
It’s great as there is always another goal ⭐️⭐️⭐️
