Very energetic and very sleepy after run

Hello everyone!

Due the heatwave I’ve been running early in the mornings, which I love. Today I came back full of energy, I had my snack, lots of water, had a shower, danced and sing (true story)

I was preparing everything to go and read my study materials in the park as it is fresher but right after a really light lunch I passed out for a few hours.

Is this normal? How can I keep awake the rest of the day? Might have been the heat maybe?

Tell me your thoughts please.

What do you mean by ‘passed out’? Do you mean you fell asleep? If you’ve had an early start, gone out running when it’s probably already warm and the day continues to get really hot, it’s not surprising. Why, I’ve been known to snatch a few zeds myself on occasion! In fact, I’m on the point of snatching a few right now 😂

I think that's perfectly normal. Early exertion, lunch, then feeling 💤, especially if it's warm.

There's a reason the siesta was invented.

I did find when I first moved to morning runs that after lunch my energy levels would crash. It got better over time though.

That’s good to know! I’d like to be able to keep running during the morning hours.

You’ll get used to it 👍🏽

Try some protein after your run. I like a babybel at the moment 🧀 😊
