I’ve been working myself up to the first week because I was very unfit. Well, today I completed run 3 of week 1! I never thought that I’d be able to run for a minute, let alone 8, 3 times this week - I’m amazed!!!

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Well done 👍 you ! I felt exactly the same, I’ve completed week 5 run 3 , half an hour ago, never thought I’d manage 20 minutes of running 🏃‍♀️. Keep going x

Well done! I felt the same way at the beginning and had no confidence that I would ever be able to run for longer than 60 seconds with any ease at all. I did week 7 run 1 today and although it was tiring I did it - if I can, you can. Stick to the plan and trust your body’s ability to adapt and strengthen. Do read the guidance around hydration and rest days especially in this heat. Bravo just for starting the program 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Indeed you are winning - Week 1, especially run 2, was the hardest for me by a long way. It nearly put me off week 2 - but it honestly kept getting easier - I still don't understand why!

Run 2 was tough for me too and then felt really strong on run 3. I’ve got an achy leg today though haha. I can’t wait to get back on it. I just need it to be about 5 degrees outside because I get so damn hot!!
