So the hard part is over I did day one. Actually it wasn’t that bad. I didn’t manage it all but I did my best. However my support ( two black labs) gave up and lay down before the last two runs. I’m guessing I’m doing something right to exhaust them. It was very warm even at stupid o’clock in the morning in the hope of not seeing anyone, just last bus load of people 🤦♀️. For me this was a moment of epic proportions, so if like me you’re sat there too scared to try believe I had a list of reasons not to. But I’m so glad I did. I hope that this helps you take the first step 😃

WK1 Run 1
Good on you getting out there, and your dogs, you’ll have a great journey here. Keep posting as the support is amazing.
Well done 👍 for getting started and welcome to the community!
Congratulations on starting C25K with run 1 of week 1, to some that run is the hardest, as you say 'the hard part is over'.
Take all the runs slowly, you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration, don't run on consecutive days as that could cause a injury, good luck for your running journey with C25K, onwards and upwards to run 2 of week 1.
Fantastic you have done it!!!
It does get easier it starts to get addictive in a good way👏👏
Well done!! I started this in June and was scared to be seen. I am 56 and was scared I would look stupid and slow. My daughters have come on my runs with me and pointed out that I am a million times better than the people who are still sat on the couch. I do W9R3 on Monday and amazingly haven't had to repeat any runs. I no longer care who sees me or what I look like. I am proud of what I am doing. You be proud too and good luck x
Welcome to the forum and well done
on getting started.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Repeat any workout that you do not fully repeat......no point moving on until you have it under your belt.
If it is hard, slow down.
Enjoy your journey.
Well done for getting out in this heat. I had a list of reasons for not running too, but I'm so glad I stuck with this programme. You'll hate some of it, while you're running, but you'll feel amazing afterwards and strangely, at some point, you'll start to enjoy it! Have fun.
