Completed! Hooray and although it felt tough, as it was hot this morning. I ran the furthest I have done so far, 4.4k at 7:47 pace. I was exhausted at the end though, so maybe slow down for W6R2? Any tips for shin pain and the next run?

W6R1
I have just done W6R2 so at the same stage as you! I found W6R1 tough, I think after doing the 20 minutes I had a bit of new found confidence and when my legs felt heavy early on it felt exhausting to get through it! From what I gather on here it’s a run that catches a lot out by going back to intervals. W6R2 I found miles better, and you’re only running an extra 2 minutes with less walking time in-between so just focus on settling into a steady pace and try and take your mind elsewhere! You’ve got this!
I would suggest slowing your pace. It’s better to concentrate on completing the 20 mins run and not feeling exhausted than worry about distance. This can help with shin pain too. Do some active stretches before your run as well as your 5 minute warm up walk and make sure you stretch well as the end. It’s helped me a lot with my running. Good luck & well done 👍
