Mine is currently sitting in my sports bra but I don’t know how sustainable this is.. especially with wanting to check distance in the future..

Mine's in a sports belt when running.

I use a fit belt for my phone

I doubt many of the guys are wearing sports bras. 🤪

I recommend they make excellent sports belts!

I dunno... with nowt to naturally fill one I could carry lots of things 🤣🤣

I used to put mine in the cross body bag I had for all my dog clutter. Now it goes in the top pocket of my backpack which I always run with these days (so I am well set up for making purchases, sitting down and keeping a dry bum, having a book to read and countless other things... the only thing I don't take is an extra layer or anything to drink!)

I really want this: freetrain.co.uk/products/fr...

Invest in a flip belt, it sits under your shirt tight against your waist. I store my phone there and never touch it again. Has a nice little hook for keys and some people use the other pockets for things like credit cards but I don't see the point unless you're at a race far from home.

Mine kept slipping out of my sports bra 😂😂😂.

I actually bought an arm band thingy for my phone but only used it twice .

It kept slipping down my arm and really annoying me, now I just keep it in my hand ! That works fine for me 😁

I would definitely drop mine if I did that! 😁

I just don't trust it in the pocket of my shorts , I've had a few bizarre things happen 😂

Birdlady64 profile image
Birdlady64Graduate in reply toInstructor57

🤣 Now that's got me really interested 😁

Instructor57 profile image
Instructor57Graduate in reply toBirdlady64

Hahaha, 😂😂😂

In the earlier days of the program I had trouble with strava (before I had my watch to track ) and the app stopped on my once , so I can keep an eye on things if it's in my hand 😁

Birdlady64 profile image

Yeah I've accidentally pressed "pause" a couple of times trying to get mine into my pocket.

I try not to be too anal about these things but I would have been miffed if that had happened on my run this morning

Absolutely !

This is from a US based running coach, but there are many articles on the subject ...

"Poor Running Form

Running with something in your hand causes you to use body parts differently than you normally would.

Proper running form starts with muscle equilibrium and even distribution of weight across your body. Holding something creates asymmetry, as you use your hand and arm differently compared to when you're running hands-free.

These asymmetrical effects lead to poor form and muscular imbalance, which make you a less efficient runner."

Yes, I have seen this thanks .

But I feel I run more naturally holding it , the only difference is my fingers are closed . 😁

Arm thingy

I've got a waist money belt type thing that holds my phone and car keys. Don't notice it's there 👍🔑📱😂

I made an arm holder from a pair of walking socks. It’s really comfy, has never slipped, is washable and cost nothing but a bit of time.

I'm also looking for a better way. I bought an arm thingy but can't for the life of me get it fixed round my arm, with the phone in and still working. Or at least not without outside assistance. I think my phone's too big and my arm's too small!

FlipBelt in this weather.

In the cooler months I have a running top with zipped pockets big enough for keys and phone.😊

Other people have recommended Eono belts on Amazon, as well as the Flipbelts. Quite a few people don't seem to have got on so well with the arm bands. Holding the phone in your hand makes you run a bit lop-sided! :)

Not just that, but think of what might happen if you trip. 🙃

In the back pocket of my running shorts. It's a tight fit and takes a bit of getting in and out but is fine unless you want to keep checking it during your run. I leave mine until I stop.

I have a pair of cropped tights but they have no pocket so I tend not to wear those unless it's cool enough for the long sleeved top I have which has a chest pocket.

Wow thank you for so many replies!!! I think I might be sold on these belts, I'm going to check out the flip belt and the Eono as suggested x

The eono belt I have is this one:

amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07...

But it was £1.50 cheaper when I got it back in March. ☹

I’ve used a flip belt for a few months without any problems. I find it much easier than anything else I’ve tried. I hope that’s some help.

I run with mine in a belt that will hold my phone and a set of keys if required. I have Strava speak the distance and time out each half mile and I only hold it for last 0.2 miles when I stop it.

sally1993 profile image
sally1993 in reply toPapillon17

Ohh didn't know strava could speak!

Papillon17 profile image
Papillon17Graduate in reply tosally1993

Yes it’s in the settings. When you press record there is a separate settings cog on my phone top left. You need audio clues on. Click on this and it will give you start, stop or resume and times running at each half mile and mile with split mile times. Or if you have in km they are more frequent but I am old school and prefer miles. Try it if you listen to music Strava just overrides that like the C25K app does then your music carries on. I did not know until I had been running six months that you could have this assistance from Strava.

amazing thank you for this! :) x

Papillon17 profile image
Papillon17Graduate in reply tosally1993

Not a problem only have to ask a question and someone will come back with something new. Happy Running 🏃‍♂️ you now want to get out there and try it I know. I am like that with new music lists 😂

sally1993 profile image
sally1993 in reply toPapillon17

😂😂😂 definitely I feel like such a running nerd and I’m only at the start! Lucky for me I have my W2 R2 this evening 😎 x

Papillon17 profile image
Papillon17Graduate in reply tosally1993

Good luck, enjoy stick to the programme, plenty of fluids, run slowly, you probably don’t need the talking Strava just yet as you will have your C25K coach counting out the 5 min segments I did start Strava after the warm up walk just so could see time and distance covered but was more happy listening to my music choices as I am not able to listen at home as no one likes them. So 30 mins of own time out pounding the streets or the park listening to whatever helps the mental state and certainly makes me feel better. The other half even now asks if I am going for a run gives her time alone as well. Having graduated March 2019 I am now only running once or twice a week now and sort of class them as maintenance runs.
