Really struggled today to complete the 90 second runs today due to pains in my calves 🙁. I’ve been stretching after runs, but is there anything I can do before to help with this? Or is just something I have to grit my teeth and push through?

I’m looking into support or so press ion socks I over pronate and my ankles and calves suffer and apparently the compression is beneficial ? Rockay is the make I’m looking at atm the calf length ones x I also stretch for about 3 mins after runs but never before just the five min warm up brisk walk x

Stretching immediately after every run, nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h... while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow, as recommended in the guide to the plan.
Many people do not hold their stretches for long enough or put enough effort in. Hold post run stretches for 30 seconds and make sure the pull is strong enough to be on the verge of discomfort.
Hydration is also crucial and as a runner you need to be drinking 2.5-3 lts of fluids each and every day, running or not.
If the above do not work you could try compression socks, a foam roller or perhaps doing dynamic stretches pre run as per guide to the plan.

Yes there is !
Do the DYNAMIC warm ups before you run .
You will find them from a link in the ' How to run C 2 5K'
