Just wanted to say hi and very pleased to have found this forum. Found week 1 pretty tough as a total novice but was amazed to actually be able to go for an extra 30 seconds in week 2. Knees hurting a bit this week but have been reading all the advice and will be going for R3 on Saturday.

Welcome! I’ve found it tough but it’s so worth the effort. I think it amazes everyone to see themselves turning into runners - I remember being shocked at how hard I found week 1 but it’s a great programme and in no time you’re able to do so much more. I start week 8 tomorrow. Look after you knees - you might find some advice on here about that - I know good running shoes are important.

Welcome to the forum and well done your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.
