My first 5k!

Hello everyone. I graduated 2 years ago and for several reasons didn’t manage to keep up with running so I decided to redo C25K during lockdown. I (regraduated) and today did my 7th consolidation run. On my 6th one I tried the stepping stones run which was interesting as it helped me slow down and keep pace, though I ended up with a sore bum (glutes) wasn’t sure if it was my new running shoes I treated myself to encourage me to keep at it or a change in the way I ran due to trying to keep with the beat? Anyway today I went out and ran with an audio book but tried to keep in mind the slower pace. Well when I got to 30mins I felt like I could keep going so I did and went until I heard the 5k marker from Strava. I can not believe i did it and I never would have done without all the helpful advice here. Am absolutely thrilled and made it to 5k in just under 36mins. This time round I am determined to keep up with running and am enjoying it so much. Any tips for keeping going very welcome. Thanks to all for listening and good luck to everyone on your journeys. We can do this 🏃‍♀️👏🏻 Ps. My bum is no longer sore 🙊

Well done for Graduating again and keeping going. I remember my 1st 5k (only weeks ago), it was such a high. I had a post graduation blue spell, where I lost a bit of motivation and focus. But now I have a training plan in and want to push on to 6k and 7k, adding 6 minutes every 4 weeks hopefully - doesnt sound much when I write it like that. Good Luck and enjoy your new found hobby.
