Well have to say Iโm a little disappointed as this is my first unsuccessful run ๐ I got to 25 minutes and had to stop and walk for a minute as thought I was either going to collapse or vomit ๐คข (or maybe both).
I think probably Iโm a bit out of practice and have just recovered from a very nasty infection. Added to that I think I was probably a bit dehydrated as only had a coffee and about 500ml ๐ง
Iโm trying not to be too hard on myself but hate failing anything ๐คฃ
My plan for Thursday is to try and keep running until I hit 5k but maybe thatโs a bit ambitious.... ? We will see ๐
I havenโt quite worked that out either! The consolidation club seems to be one long thread so I find it hard to follow as itโs so long ๐ค๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
I had a rubbish consolidation run today, only managed 20mins! I tried to increase my pace which had a detrimental effect. I got a huge shock when Strava showed me at 3km per hour faster --- I wasn't going THAT much faster! My first encounter with Bad GPS results!
If you are recovering from an infection then do bear that in mind, we all have stumbling blocks to get over from time to time All the best for your next run!
Do not underestimate the power of a cat bite ๐ My husband was bitten by 1 of our cats on his foot a few weeks ago (v long story!) it was really bad and very deep. He thought he was fine but went to A&E about 10 days after and was given antibiotics! Heโd carried on running and I think it made him worse!
Donโt beat yourself up, next run will be better ๐
๐ oh dear! Iโm still speaking to mine, it wasnโt Peggy it was my youngest Bryn who I was trying to rescue when he trapped his leg he is just a bit sheepish now as he realised I was hurt more than him ...
Similar situation... cat dangling upside down by a 1 claw on the grill of the radiator, he was in so much pain he plunged his 4 teeth into the nearest thing to him which happened to be my husbands foot. Blood and shock all round!
Aww definitely be kind to yourself! Nasty infections take time to get over and can take a lot out of you. You still managed 25 mins which is a great effort. Good luck for your next run, listen to your body and push a little but not too much, you have time to build it up again
Yes Iโm doing ok thanks, struggling to get into a proper running routine but thatโs because Iโve been doing good long walks with friends, company is more important at the moment so thatโs fine Iโm still doing at least one run per week
