Stay focused on your goal, keep telling yourself why your doing this and what you want out of it.

The end goal is your motivation. You have the whole forum supporting you, no mountain to high we can do this together

If you can somehow get yourself out there hopefully the running itself will do the trick of motivating you as you will feel great when it is done. Good luck, you don’t want to give up now do you???!!!

So you've been doing really well for a while? Great! You can, and will, do well again. Starting from your next run! :)

It's very simple. Why did you start running? That's your motivation. The most powerful force. If the reason is gone, mojo is gone.

Yeah i agree, what was you original motivation. Think of all the positives you’ve gained from running. 🙂

When I don’t want to run, I just say I’m going out for a walk to myself and after about 5 mins of music and fast walking I’m more enthusiastic about the run then x perhaps try just walking fast and see how you feel in 10 mins or so?

I lost my mojo after completing C25k, so signed up to race at your pace. It's £10 but you choose how many miles you want to run over a month and you get a medal at the end of the month. It has worked for me, anyway

I found virtual medals were good for getting me out of a slump too.

I finished C25K a few weeks ago and during that time never missed a run (every other day) and now my times gone up to 32 min 5k and I can’t be bothered. Help! Virtual runs probably wouldn’t bother me haha! Dam covid19

Flipping eck! That’s amazing

I’m with slowpoke42. I don’t think about going for a run. No, I’m going for a walk. And then when Mr Johnson says it’s time for a run? Well, too late to give in, I’m already out there, so I just obey.

Hello. I’m at the same point as you today. Haven’t run for two weeks, Did manage to get to week 3 but lost my motivation after I struggled to complete the run. (Lots of other poor self-esteem and belief reasons as well). My HealthUnlocked news feed came through on my email this morning and I know this sounds weird, but you have given me the kick up the wotsit to get out there again. Lots of good advice given but the one that sticks with me is why I started running in the first place. Hold on to that. Let’s do this!! All the best for tomorrow. I will be running with you :)

The moment you start today you are going to be right back on track. Just start it and your hormones are going to do the rest.

Have a nice training.

Don’t beat yourself up. Put it down to a blip. We’ve all had hiccups along the way. Get back out there and maybe change you mentor. And slow is good, and Japanese running helps with hills. Go Dj go.

Thanks Karttrack. I've finished c25k 2 years ago now, was just running 5km 3 days a week to keep my fitness up. Also I did a 10 km race last year. I think was a blip my wife gave a kick up the butt saying I was needing to get back to it as I am alot happier if I get out running.

Ha ha. Well you have certainly achieved just that. I think I thought I was replying to another thread. Good to hear that you have done so well. I’m impressed. I put it all down to your wife, naturally 🤣
