I spoke to a doctor in January about exercising and doing Couch to 5k, sensible precaution when you’re 58, he said I definitely should, but I didn’t. There were always to many reasons not to, until a chance conversation with a good friend who just happened to mention she was doing it, 15+ years my junior! I think I was shamed into it, just finished Wk2, and completely mystified why it has taken me so long. I will complete, I may have dithered about starting, but enjoying the experience, plus I’m to stubborn to stop.
A typical ditherer: I spoke to a doctor in... - Couch to 5K

Good for you - the main thing is that you started! That couch is now 2 weeks behind you as well. Keep on posting so we can cheer you on!!
Welcome to the forum and well done getting started.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Enjoy your journey.
Hindsight is a great thing, but fortunately for you, you won't be looking back in a few months time wondering what stopped you. Instead you will be a graduate of C25k looking into the future where running will feature a lot, I promise! 😊🌷
Welcome to the forum and congratulations on making the decision to make a positive change in your life.
This plan is amazing - it really does work.
I say that as someone who has hated running since school days (almost 40 years ago!!!) but who now firmly has the running bug 🦗
Happy running 🏃♂️🏃♀️😁
Well done for starting the programme actually works and better to have dithered than to not started at all 😁
Welcome and well done getting started. Maybe the time was wrong in January... you procrastinated less than I did... I had a running app installed for a whole year before I hit start! All that matters is you’re here now and you’ll do this, and more. Enjoy your journey!
I think most people probably approach it with the same kind of uncertainty, regardless of age. It’s big commitment and challenge, and that in itself can be more than enough to put people off without even getting to the actual exertion. Well done for finally lacing up the trainers 🙂
